How To Make The Most Of Your Life

There is no question that we live in a fast paced world, people are getting busier and busier with their lives and routines. All you have to do is ask an acquaintance or friend how their week was and they’d more often than not reply “Busy”. So why have society as a whole been so captivated by the need to be busy. Have we ever thought to stop and pause to decide what are we being busy for.
The human desire to make the most of the short time we have on this earth has been the biggest driver of change and improvements in the standard of living. We strive and work so that we may use the rewards earned to make our lives more comfortable or enjoyable. Otherwise why else would be work eight hours a day or sometimes more if it was to just pay the bills and mortgage.
So how do we make the most of our life. The common consensus when it comes to living a productive and meaningful life is to have goals. If you don’t know what you want out of life and what you want to do then how do you know if you ever get there.
A great exercise is to sit down in a quite place one afternoon and grab a blank sheet of paper and pen. Write out your 101 goals that you want to do, experience or have in a lifetime. Be as creative as you can, let your mind dream and don’t hold back. The exercise will only be as effective as you want it to be, so dream big. Imagine that you have been given the ability to realize every imaginable dream you have ever had and that there was no such thing as impossible. What would dream of.
A lot of people will begin with goals like travel destinations, experiences like skiing or the like or just things that they always wanted to own. Write them all down. This is your blueprint for making the most of your life.
After a while you are going to start to find it difficult to make 101 goals. Just persevere and dream bigger.
Now that you know what you want to do in a lifetime, the next step is to start making them happen. The key here is that they are now written on paper. You need to start waking up each morning with the sheet of your goals in a prominent place and start to focus on them. Read them everyday and think about all the ways that you can make the goals a reality. That which you focus on most intently and with emotion your unconscious will start to work for you to find ways to make them a reality in your life.
So start the process and make a commitment with yourself that you are going to spend a moment each day to work towards the attainment of each and everyone of those goals that you have written down.
